Yet Another Dump Run

Up to 86 bags, AND we got a couch down in the basement. Taking up all the space we just cleared. Our neighbors are moving and gave us this couch. The kids are elated. It's a couch which pulls out to a bed, and they played on the bed for at least an hour when we just got it.

Showing one of our many dump runs, I wish I had kept track of how many times I made them already. The people at the dump are starting to hide when my van appears, I wonder why. Last time he asked me (paraphrased) 'Where the heck are you getting all this crap?' I smiled and said 'Seven kids and eight years of basement neglect.'

Karen, you have inspired me to begin my own clean up. I only have 4 children & not as much in my basement but today we took two loads to our local shop that takes donations. Next week: the dump!

Thank you for tackling your pile so that I could get motivated to tackle mine!!

LOL, Annelies, sure, send him over.

And Cheryl, I am glad I inspired you. When I started this process, I considered putting up pictures, but almost was too embarrassed to do so. I decided that I wanted to do it anyway, to show people 'This was BAD and she still did it' in the hope that they would realize that they could do their basement /whatever too.

So I am happy that my stories/ pictures have inspired me to start on yours. Saving the world, one basement at a time ^^

Okay, now I've started too :-)

I'm going to start counting bags of >>junk<< that I throw out, donate, get out of my house too. And so far it's TWO!
