Solstice Pictures

We have always enjoyed celebrating the solstice. The days are so short right now, that it comes as a relief that they finally will start getting longer again.

Our celebration always include a fire, and of course, lots of fun food.

No solstice would be complete without marshmallows and s'mores.

We baked potatoes in the fire, but will skip pictures of that, they are not terribly exciting.

A good time was had by all, and from now on every single day will be a few minutes longer.

Sparklers are such fun!

I love the first sparkler photo... the reflection on his face is perfect.

It's funny too that I was just looking at the photos below and thinking that you had such a beautiful fireplace and mantel, and that you should move your couch to be able to see it, decorate it and use it! LOL.

Yeah, our living room is kind of awkwardly shaped and we need the couch in front of the fire place to have enough seating for all.

But...

We have a desk in the living room, which is mostly a clutter magnet. Some day, I'll clean it up and get rid of the desk and then we might be able to rearrange so that the fireplace is available at all times.
