Fish and Frogs

This is the pond which Dawn and Jane dug, last year when they felt we should have another pond in the backyard.

 

It is nice to have kids who find their own projects and follow through on them.

 

Even although it was quite deep, we didn't think it would be deep enough for fish to survive the winter. Which means I was totally thrilled when I noticed today that there were at least four fish swimming around in it. There was one fish passed away, but that is not bad at all.

 

Not only that, but the frogs clearly had found this pond and layed many eggs in it. I am looking forward to the tadpoles!
