Three New American Citizens!

Today, I joined 193 other people in Portsmouth to become a new American citizen. My naturalization automatically turned Cees and Tim into American citizens. I gave up my Dutch citizenship, but they are dual citizens now.

Very excited and thrilled! We had a great day, including watching fireworks over the ocean in Maine. We even got some ocean swimming in this afternoon, it was awesome.

More stories tomorrow, just wanted to share my happiness.

CONGRATULATIONS to you and the boys!

It sounds like you had a great day. I can't wait to hear more about it.

Enjoy your first full day as an American!

I thought of you yesterday!!!!

I heard a little blurb on the radio - just a snippet that said something about one of the celebrations going on to welcome new citizens...

and I thought; "I wonder if Karen is there...."

Congratulations.

Do you know the most beautiful words? When you travel overseas and you fly back to America and you come through customs and they look at you and say "WELCOME HOME...."

Seriously.

Makes me cry just writing it.
