Thanks guys! It is indeed a turkey vulture, it looks like one and it behaved like one. When I looked up and saw the notes on the groups they form at night it fit perfectly with the bunch of them which all landed together on one of the radio towers later that afternoon.
Cool.
Oh, and I think our local dump also has them, at least there are always raptors flying around and I greatly suspect they are the same turkey vulture ones.

I also think a turkey vulture. We have them at our local dump on the Cape. Their wing span is HUGE!
