My kids truly do rock. In honor of
Almost Pi Day Cake Day, they baked cakes all day. My visiting kid started the day by asking me whether she could start baking cakes early this morning, but we didn't have the supplies, so she couldn't yet. Later I took her and three of my own kids grocery shopping and life was good.
Erik baked a pumpkin shaped cake, our visitor baked another cake, and Kate baked cupcakes.
To counteract all the cake, Dawn made a great macaroni and cheese for dinner. I love having kids old and capable enough to cook and bake spontaneously.
Happy Cake Day to y'all!

Desmina has been talking about Pi day all week.
Silly girl.
Looks good. Every day should be cake day, but what is Pi Day? Am I missing something here? Isn't it nice when your kids are motivated and actually enjoy working around the house or kitchen? It warms the heart, not to mention the house.
Pi day is 3/14 in honor of the mathematical symbol pi or π, being 3.14
You know, the one to calculate circumference and area of circles.
My mathematician friend will celebrate it by making pies, that's why our cake making seemed to fit perfectly (to me as as non math obsessed person :)
