Lesson of the Day

If you talk on the phone while making lasagna and drop your phone in a sink full of dirty dishes, not only will it be dirty but it will stop working.

Then if you clean it, drop it a few more times (more carefully), talk to it, glare at it, and put it back on its cradle it still won't work.

Until two minutes later you pick it up again and suddenly it pretends it never was refusing to work in the first place and you can call back your friend and apologize for hanging up on her.

Wow, that's lucky. Not only does water ruin them, but they have a material inside that changes colour when it gets wet, so if you try to bring it in and have it fixed under the warranty, they'll know you dropped it in the water.

Yeah, I was very relieved. This wasn't even a cell phone just the home phone and as far as I know no warranty, so would have bought a new one.

Interesting about the water, I didn't know that, but I can see why they did it if they got many people trying to have a phone fixed after they dropped it into water.

This phone didn't get too wet, but still enough to deaden it for a bit, I thought it was done for.

Another funny fact about electrical appliances: if corroded by a leaking battery, just rinse off with plenty water and let dry. No harm done!
