Water and Rocks
Children are never bored when there are rocks and water around. Of course it teaches me that having dry clothes with us is never a bad idea...
It won't be long before the snow flies so we are really enjoying these glorious fall days.

Covered Bridge
We have driven pas this bridge so many times but now we finally stopped there.
Vermont and New Hampshire have a lot of covered bridges, mostly built in the 19th century.
This particular bridge is still used for car traffic, but only single lane.

Sick Kids
Week 3 of sick kids and counting. No one is horribly sick, but sick enough to have to be home from school. They get banned from school for things like throwing up in the hallway or their lunchbox, and then can't be at school for 24 hours, even if they feel better after a few hours.
This is where lack of cable television can be an incentive to find one's own entertainment. My kids seem to be drawn towards baking when they are home sick. Over the last few weeks I have had a wonderful variety of baked goods thanks to all the fall illnesses.
Erik made biscuits ('I was reading this book, mom and they gave a biscuit recipe so I wanted to try it'). Dawn made tortilla chips from scratch ('Why is there never anything good to eat in this house? I will just make my own tortilla chips') and Kate tried her hand at making pizzelles.

Jane
More pictures from when the girls borrowed my camera.
Darkness was not particularly happy to be used as a prop.
Grouting
A good friend put tiles down in my bath room, which gave me the opportunity to learn how to grout.
Pretty fun and easy, even if a bit messy. And I can't say it is perfect, but it is a 783.5 % improvement over the old, stinky, ugly carpeting which used to be in this bathroom. Or the ugly vinyl with glue marks which turned out to be under the carpeting.
Pictures of the finished bath room will be posted soon, once I figure out why I can't find them on my hard drive or make new ones. For the curious, yes, I did paint over that purple spot on the back wall even if it wouldn't be very visible when the toilet came back.

Want to Buy a Car?
This is what happens when teenage girls borrow my camera.
It sooooooo reminds me of a car ad.
Pictures taken by Jane and edited by the both of them.
