Morning Time

This is how my kids look in the morning when I try to get them ready for the school bus.

The waffles were courtesy of Dawn who got up at 5am and made gluten free waffles for my birthday. She rocks!

Happy Spring!

Yesterday was the first day the kids were out biking again!

Today we have 5 to 9 inches of snow predicted.

Welcome to spring in New England!

First Robin!

Yesterday I saw my first robin of the year.

Which means it must be spring.

Right?

Cat House

Any empty box in our house has the potential of being a cat house instead. The cats will play along if only because it is a new object and life in all other aspects is boring anyway.

Of course there is the occasional fight about the Top Position.

Darkness won.

More California Pictures

They went shopping at Macy's.

Kate lost her head.

She turned into a turtle!

And had many great encounters. Such a wonderful time!

The National Zoo

On Friday we went to The National Zoo. The weather was amazing, it was 74 F, which was about 100 degrees higher than the weather we had left behind at home. Very enjoyable.

We started the day with good bagels and then walked around in the zoo all day without seeing everything. We clearly have to go back some time soon.

This bear was one of the first animals we saw.

Covered Bridges

My geocaching often gets me to covered bridges, this time in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

This one is not used for traffic anymore but instead someone built a gift shop inside of it. For some reason the gift shop was closed for the season so I didn't get to go inside of it.

Dark Star Park

When we were in Washington DC, our hotel was in Virginia. This means we were staying in a state where we had never been before, more important, in a state where we had never geocached before!

A quick search determined that there was a geocache right on our daily route to the metro station so we decided to go for it. The cache was located in Dark Star Park, a lovely little sculpture park filled with 'fallen stars'.

The funny thing is that we had walked past this park for two days already but never noticed it till now.

Yet another fun geocaching find.
