Sir Francis Drake

Sylvia's school was doing a 'wax museum'. The kids were dressed up as historical figures (explorers) and pretended to be wax statues. When a museum visitor pressed a button, they would start talking and telling about who they were and what they did.

Sylvia was Sir Francis Drake. Kate helped her getting an awesome costume together. I have to admit that I didn't know much about him till Sylvia told me his story. He was the second person to go totally around the world in a single expedition.

She made a map of her travels so people could learn all about them.

 

This was one activity in a whirldwind December for our family.
