Guess Who's Home?

Cees got a holiday break from Basic Training!

He is doing well, and had tons of stories to tell.

It was such a pleasure to have him around and see him in person instead of only communicating by snail mail.

Erik can't quite beat him at arm wrestling anymore.

And it was the solstice too!

Happy Christmas!

When we came back from Montreal, Dawn and Jane had set up the Christmas tree, so we could get right to decorating it.

Much fun was had by all, and now we have a perfectly decorated Christmas tree!

Of which I don't seem to have a picture in this series. Oh well :D

Happy holidays to y'all!

Helpful Cat...

The more you want to get something done, the more likely you will find a cat on top of it...

The Amazing Ice Skating Chickens

Who would have thunk that chickens would ice skate on our tiny frog pond?

Weekend Storm

Our first real snow of the year. We got about 25 to 30cm, so it sure does look like winter out there now.

Sylvia had fun playing outside.

And so did Brady.

But even better: coming back inside to a roaring fire and maple syrup on freshly fallen snow.

Guess What We Ate in Montreal?

Thanks to my good friend and go teacher, we managed to find the King of Fruits, The Best Fruit Ever, the Most Deadly dropping spiky fruit. Yes, indeed we acquired...

A durian!

Since we couldn't take it over the border, we had to eat it all for breakfast. I bet y'all are super jealous now!

Ready for Winter!

Finally ordered wood for our fireplace! Winter, here we come! This should keep us nice and cozy when the snow is flying.

Too bad I didn't get pictures when we were all getting it in and stacking it. But at least this picture shows how MUCH a cord of wood is!

Looking at it makes me feel very rich and blessed. So many hourse of coziness!

Eggs and Birds

We always like to visit the Biodome when we are in Montreal. The room with all the gulls and other birds is one of my favorites.

Some of the eggs had interesting occupants...
