Project Clean Fridge

Last day with my mother. We had 'fun' cleaning the fridge. For a certain value of fun that is :p

Now she is safely back in the Netherlands and we all miss her.

Another Hike

Even although the weather is coldish, we still manage to go out on shorter hikes.

There still was ice on the trails. Will it be spring soon?

We went to our local marsh which used to be a beaver pond. The beavers have long moved out.

Brady didn't care that it was cold, he just wanted to be in the water.

Today we did some shopping and picked up things that oma wants to bring home to the Netherlands.

At night we had dinner at a local Korean restaurant. My mother had eel, something we used to eat tons when my father was still alive, but now she doesn't really eat it much anymore so that was a treat.

Afternoon Walk

Nice relaxed afternoon in a beautiful town.

We started at the town green.

And then went into the woods. We even visited Robert Frost!

Interesting tower.

And here used to be a tree, but lighning and whirlwind happened to it, and it is a tree no more.

We are having a great time!

Dinner Time

We are having such a wonderful time with oma here.

Today we looked at some old pictures and even managed to frame and hang some of them. Slowly our house is looking more and more like our house than like a house for sale. Which includes messy kids rooms, but that's another story :p

Musical Fun

Oma brought new violin books from The Netherlands.

I would write more but life has been full and busy and good and I need to sleep. Good excuse, eh?

Knitting

Oma claims that she can't read a book because the kids keep distracting her. So instead she is knitting. And knitting. And knitting. Today we went to our local JoAnns to get some kind of closure thingy for the cardigan she is knitting.

We got lots of stuff done today and we had tiramisu for dessert to celebrate Jane's accomplishment in robotics.

Lots of fun!

How NOT to Use a Balance Beam...

Kate dropped a balance beam on her foot. Which was not happy about it and now she is having interesting bruises and a mostly detached toe nail on her big toe. Lots of blood... At least there were no broken bones.

You have no idea how many people have joked that she should have been ON the balance beam instead of underneath it :p

Happy Girl

My cousin from the Netherlands gave us a slew of ear studs for the girls.

Sylvia sure was happy about it!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to y'all!

We had our traditional celebration with egg dying and an easter egg hunt.

Even oma got to dye her own egg!

Creativity galore.

Every one had fun!

Guess Who is Visiting?

My mother is visiting from the Netherlands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is wonderful to have her around. Today we went walking along the river. The dog was super happy that the ice is mostly GONE.

The first day she fell immediately into big drama when Kate dropped a balance beam on her toe... Never boring indeed.

Today we visited the King Arthur Baking Store.
