It was February vacation. I had been surfing cheap air fare web site. The stars aligned. We were going on vacation!
This was Sylvia's first flight ever so she was super excited. She did look at us funny though when we told her to start flapping her arms to practice. She asked 'Do we really need to do that?!' as if she didn't believe us.
She loved her first flight, especially when we were flying above the clouds and even through the clouds.
And she especially liked where we were going:

Backyard Visitors
Look who came to visit?
Some of the local turkeys. I had seen them around the neighborhood, but this was the first time I saw them in our backyard this year.
A week ago I entered our neighborhood and had to wait for a while for the turkeys to cross the road. They clearly haven't figured out the dangers of cars yet. At least these surviving ones haven't :p

Bubbles Fun
Dawn made some bubble blowing solution and all her siblings loved it.
It's amazing how something simple like bubbles can entertain for a long time.
Another hour closer to spring! Not that I am counting of course...

Squirrel Central...
Our deck is very popular with the local squirrels.
Giving both the kids and the cats lots of entertainment.
I think we'll get rid of our television. Who needs it when there are squirrels around?

Icicles
Erik has been having fun knocking down the icicles in the front of our kitchen window.
Darkness has been just watching him, wondering why anybody would go OUTSIDE in weather like this.
Tomato Soup with Seaweed
The winter weather has inspired me to make soup more often. Tomato soup is popular and we all like to add cheese to it.
A friend's daughter decided to add some nori to her soup and Sylvia totally has adopted this.
Now Sylvia's soup isn't complete without a lot of nori on it. Interesting addition. It looks cool for sure.

Snow
All these pictures have been taken today. Our deck and back yard:
Front yard with Kate sledding.
Our driveway. Yeah, I swear it is under there somewhere. I hope.
Erik with Sylvia and driveway in background:
Hope y'all are staying warm and safe!

More Snow and More Sick Kids
This year has been quite intense snow wise. We spend a lot of time shoveling the driveway. Good exercise I guess ^^
The nice thing about snow days is that it is a great excuse to cancel all appointments for that day and just snuggle up inside, playing pool on Erik's new pool set. Even the cat agrees that this is an awesome toy.
This winter also has been filled with sick kids. Apart from the skull fracture nothing serious, just annoying normal winter illnesses. It just means that almost every day has at least one sick kid at home. Oh well. It is almost spring, isn't it?
Today two dentist and one doctor appointment but tomorrow I will cancel everything and have a day without driving around.
